NGC 891 (Galaxy in Andromeda)

 

               NGC 891 (UGC 1831), Magnitude 9.90, Size 13.1' x 2.8', Constellation: Andromeda.

NGC 891 in Andromeda  is well known and beloved of deep sky observers both because of its edge on character and its striking dust lane.The dust lane is fairly easy in moderate size amateur instruments, and was first noted by Lord Rosse in his drawing of this magnificent galaxy.
